Welcome

The University Hospitals Extended Care Campus (formerly known as Heather Hill) is pleased to present The Liberty, an assisted living community that opened in 1999. The Liberty features 70 apartment suites in three connected neighborhood buildings. The Liberty offers luxurious living and common areas, where "front porches" open onto interior neighborhood streets bathed in natural light.
Residents of The Liberty enjoy "catered assistance with living," a special combination of housing, personalized support services, and healthcare designed for individuals who require assistance with activities of daily living. This includes housekeeping, meal preparation, and medication management.

The Liberty extends the continuum of care available at the Extended Care Campus, which also includes rehabilitation, transitional, subacute, dementia, home health, dialysis and nursing home care.

University Hospital Extended Care Campus is a non-profit organization serving the community since 1939, and has offered assisted living options since 1980.

"I am grateful we made the decision to move to The Liberty."

"I am grateful that we made the decision to move to The Liberty. It is the best assisted living community in the country. This includes all of the facilities, all the employees and all the residents. It must be the next step into Heaven..."
- Mr. John P. Papa

"I am home. I am treated as though I am on a permanent cruise."

"After my father died in December, my mother and I both agreed that it would be best for her not to live alone. It was her desire to go to a place where she could be with her peers yet close to me. In her fragile mourning condition, I was especially concerned that we find a place where she could receive the emotional support she needed to heal, and a place that she could quickly relate to as 'home.' The Liberty is an answer to my prayers far beyond what I could have asked for or imagined. Mom is delighted with her new home and is thriving. The staff members, without exception, are so deeply respectful and caring of her as a person, yet prompt and professional in meeting her needs. Her beautiful apartment home affords her healthy private time, yet she has made many friends and enjoys the wonderful activities and opportunities offered. I am most thankful for the inner peace I see in Mom. Her own words say it best…'I think this is exactly where God wants me. I am home. I am treated as though I am on a permanent cruise.!' "
